Trimble Introduces Next Generation GNSS-Inertial OEM Modules for High-Precision Positioning and Orientation

Embedded GNSS + Inertial Provides Continuous Mobile Positioning for Maximum Performance

WASHINGTON, Aug. 16, 2011 - Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) introduced today its next generation AP Series of embedded GNSS-Inertial OEM modules plus Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), featuring a high-performance 220 channel multi-frequency GNSS receiver with dual-antenna heading support. Integrators can now harness the latest in GNSS positioning technology for improved mobile positioning accuracy and robustness, as well as add GNSS heading for improved orientation performance without the need of a second GNSS card. The result is improved performance and a reduction in size, weight and cost over previous versions.

The announcement was made today at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2011 Conference and Exhibition.

"Trimble is committed to providing the best in high-precision GNSS-Inertial technology for systems integrators," said Dr. Steve Woolven, general manager of Trimble. “Expanding our multi-frequency support ensures that our products remain at the forefront of accuracy and robustness in all conditions.”

The Trimble AP Series of modules features a high-performance precision GNSS receiver and the industry leading Applanix IN-Fusion™ GNSS-Inertial integration technology running on a powerful, dedicated Inertial Engine (IE) board. The modules track all available satellite signals including GPS L1/L2/L5, GLONASS L1/L2 and Galileo. With optional OmniSTAR VBS, XP, HP and G2 corrections capability and five different models to choose from, the AP Series provides a wide range of performance levels and price points to suit a variety of mobile positioning applications including airborne, terrestrial and marine mapping and guidance for unmanned vehicles.
