Wireless Data Links

EDL II

Pacific Crest has introduced a replacement for the EDL II called the ADL Sentry (Advanced Data Link Sentry). The ADL Sentry’s firmware is completely backward-compatible with all RFM- and PDL-generation radio modems. The ADL Sentry uses the same data/power connector/cables as the EDL II.  However, Pacific Crest has standardized on TNC-Female antenna connectors on all radios in the ADL family.  Adaptors for TNC-to-N-type antennas are available to ease any transition.

The ADL Sentry offers many improvements over the older EDL II:

  • Up to 4 Watts of user-configurable RF output power
  • All models support both 12.5 and 25 kHz channel bandwidth
  • Improved performance from better Forward Error Correction
  • SATEL protocol support and expanded Trimble protocol support

Pacific Crest will continue to accept orders for the EDL II as long as supplies last but we can no longer offer extended warranties beyond the standard two-year warranty. Pacific Crest will support the EDL II for 36 months after sale. This will include both tech support and service but there will not be any more software or firmware updates.
