Precise Positioning
Land Surveying
Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such as the US Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Russian GLONASS system provide extremely accurate position and timing information needed to measure and map the land which is the heart and soul of land survey. For the highest levels of performance, a technique known as Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) is used allowing one to two centimeters position accuracy.
Land survey uses the fundamental concept of RTK where a reference GPS receiver is placed in a known location. The reference receiver monitors the system errors and calculates correction messages that are transmitted to the other GPS user equipment typically within a 10 km range. Data communication over UHF radio links provides an efficient, long range and reliable transfer of information. Wireless Data Link communication products provide the critical connection between the GPS reference station and other GPS user equipment.
Pacific Crest offers land survey solutions for both the surveyor and system integrators. It provides the radio links required for precise positioning. These solutions determine the exact reference points that define an area for legalities, boundary distinction, and mapping. Land survey solutions are complimented by the rugged and reliable design of the radios.
